Oldie but goodie

I did this one about a year ago when I designed for RuffleButts inc. I illustrated the picture on the top of the leg warmers hanging. I thought they turned out pretty cute.
This email's layout was used a few times, the flat shot of all the colored tights in the middle was taken by me, it was a very popular photo for months,  it got mass amounts of attention by our consumers at the time, in email, social media and web graphics.
Everyone loves adorable little swimsuits in an email! I tried to make it beach themed, I originally had the background a big darker with a watercolor brush for a sad look, but I toned it lighter for more white space because the swimsuits were popping out too much already with their bold colors.

Digitally coloring a simple house sketch

Sketch of the "some what perfect home" I quickly made one night and wanted to play around with the colors.

One thing I hate: the clouds.

Thank you email

A simple email I created for us to send to new leads/customers after meeting them at trade shows. I wanted it as simple, clean and neat as possible of course involving the Private collection's color scheme. I took the picture with a Nikon D3100 and it came out pretty well, lighten it up a bit of course. We will use this email from now on until a new product image is requested.

Branding

Many different versions of a logo that ended up being a completely different brand, not even associated with Longhorn. As you can see above, I was trying to go as western as possible. Texas at it's most Texas, yeehaw.

a gift

This is a family portrait I made earlier this year for when two of my best friends got married, it was their wedding present. They are great people, I've known Eric for over 10 years and Ashley for about 8. They are the coolest married couple I know, and they love their Italian greyhounds! I thank the Wacom tablet for being my best friend during the process of this illustration. Cheat of the day: I duplicated the puppy and changed the colors, which puppy did I start with? I won't tell. #designersecrets

tri-fold project

Here is a last minute tri-fold flyer I had to make a couple months ago, I love swiss design, so I took the idea of kinetic typography and ran with it, adding a few slants, tilts and simplicity. This is the front.

This is the full back, adding some social media info and qr codes on the back. I do admit, the photography could have been better planned, I did not have a suitable camera to work with at the time since it was so last minute. Yes I did have to add me and my friends on the flyer...haha.
 The flyer half opened.
The front, folded.

Where the magic happens.

My desk at home, not very organized but this is where the magic truly happens, and where the magic sometimes doesn't happen or where the magic is stuck for hours and then finally happens after many changes. I love to see other designer's desks and how they organize it, it fascinates me. Surrounded I have art by me (the places I've lived series) and a camp Ivanhoe flyer I made as a tribute to one of my favorite movies, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom. Also you may probably notice the Daniel Johnston postcard I got in Austin, the Belle and Sebastian poster I got from a friend and the light up Zebra Slow magic mask. Oh and a Mr. Brainwash tomato soup spray can, I kind of stole it from somebody, haha.
